Leon’s Style Salons celebrated their
70th anniversary in 2015. From its humble
beginnings as a six-chair beauty salon on
Tate Street in 1945 to today’s six salons and
renowned school, Leon’s has always made its
presence know as a superior business and
community institution.
The beauty school was founded in 1963 by the late Leon Oldham.
It was located on that same Tate Street block, with flair as it was called
“Maison de Paris.” Leon’s Beauty School is presently operated by Robert D. Chandler who has been an instructor for Leon’s for 45 years. It is a private co-educational institution offering
a cosmetology program, an esthetics program and training courses for cosmetology
and esthetics teachers.
One of the advantages or Leon’s Beauty School’s longevity in the
Triad area is a significant client base. Having a busy clinic allows us
to keep tuition costs low while giving students ample opportunities
to practice their skills.
Thousands of students have attended the school and thousands more
have visited for services in Greensboro, North Carolina.
